Guest Post: Day to Night; Nautical Inspired Look

{All Images copyright of She Wore Fashion Out}

Hello Butterfly Boo readers, don't worry the lovely Elizabeth will be back soon ! As for now it's time for my guest post, this is the first time I've done one of these. I guess I should introduce myself...

Hi, I'm Molly and I have been running my blog She Wore Fashion Out for just over a year now. I mainly post outfits, fashion, inspiration and the occasional photography post. I came across Butterfly Boo a few months ago after Elizabeth commented on my blog. I've been a reader ever since (: When there was a call for guest posts, I thought hey that sounds fun -so here I am.

Today I shall be styling a recent purchase of mine from the Topshop sale. The sailor chic look is a look that seems to come around every summer so I thought it would be a fun look to post about & an even better look to have a go at styling as sometimes it is the timeless items that are the hardest to wear without looking boring.

Day Look
 Striped top - Dunnes
Skirt - Topshop
Shoes - George
Bag - Vintage
Necklace - Pop Boutique
Bow - Gift

This is how I would style the skirt for the day time. I chose to play up the sailor look with a striped top and matching navy bag. For accessories I chose to play with a clashing pink, I am always trying to find ways to wear this necklace as it is a little crazy and not my usual style. I thought the choice of accessories really brought some life into a day look that could have been too navy. I think this would have also looked great with black tights for the autumn time. I love mixing black with navy as you will see in the next look.

Night Look
Top - Angel Eye
Shrug - Local Boutique
Skirt - As Above
Sandals - Clarks
Bracelet - Thrift

For an evening look I decided to style the skirt with a dressy blouse. This blouse really is a staple in my dressing up wardrobe. I also love how the central buttons on the blouse match the central line of buttons on the skirt. I paired the look with a cute cover up for colder evenings. Then with some sandals to show off some nail art maybe ? I also carried on the nautical theme with the faux pearl bracelet, if you are going for a look you might as well go all the way, right ?

Thank you so much again to Elizabeth for letting me post.
Which is your favourite look & how would you style this skirt ?

xoxo Molly
